Hello, and thank you for visiting!
I’m Jingyu Li. I was born in Beijing and came to the United States in my early twenties for graduate school, eventually making my home in San Francisco. Over the years, I worked in many corners of software engineering, from Apple products to Amazon’s fulfillment systems to medical devices. More recently, my encounter with AI has, somewhat ironically, made me see more clearly that what brings human happiness is often very small: being present, noticing, making, learning, and caring for one another.
These days, I take joy in the small, often overlooked details of everyday life—baking sourdough, nature journaling, painting and sketching, designing crochet amigurumi, reading about biology, reading world classics, cultivating friendship, and traveling to unfamiliar parts of the world. Wherever I go, I like to bring home children’s books in the local language, especially those that carry the distinct voice and imagination of the culture they come from.
